Bernadette Peters

 Bernadette (nee Lazzara) Peters is an American performer and actress. Through her long career she has appeared on film, television, and musical theatre. She has also performed on her own and recorded. She is an acclaimed Broadway performer, having received seven nominations for Tony Awards, winning two (plus an honorary award) and nine Drama Desk Award nominations, getting three. Grammy Awards were won for four of her Broadway roles.



 



 Peters is widely recognized as the most well-known interpreter of the works of Stephen Sondheim. Her roles on Broadway include Mack and Mabel (1974), Sunday in the Park with George (84), Song and Dance (1985), Into the Woods with George (87) and The Goodbye Girl(93), Annie Get Your Gun 1999), Gypsy (2003), A Little Night Music (2009), Follies (2011) as well as Hello, Dolly (2018).
